ONE OF THE JOYS OF PHILANTHROPY IS BEING ABLE TO AFFECT THE FUTURE.
We pass on a legacy in order to make a difference in something we care about deeply. Such a cause is the University of Texas System. The generosity of private donors has played a major role in the growth of the System as it has grown from the original Forty Acres to nine universities and six health institutions engaged in teaching, research, healthcare and public service.
The UT Foundation was created to receive unconventional assets that an agency of the state would not normally be able to accept. For example, donors may benefit from being spared the inconvenience of disposing of their own assets. There are tax benefits as well, such as the income-tax charitable deduction and capital-gains tax savings. In some cases, giving to the UT Foundation can even generate an income stream to the donor. These flexible plans have made the UT Foundation highly successful and fast growing, almost doubling in size every two years.
Ways to give to the UT Foundation:
Unconventional Gifts or Property
Charitable Gift Annuities
Special Foundation Grants
Donor Advised Fund
Investment Pool for Special Endowments
